Starting Today, No paper parking tickets in Dubai : RTA

RTA shared details on its twitter account that drivers will not longer have to display their parking ticket on windshields 

Roads and transport authority (RTA) in Dubai has confirmed that the motorist can say goodbye to paper tickets. "Starting today, No paper parking tickets on the vehicle's windshield" This project is in line with smart Dubai initiative by the Government of Dubai

Parking machines have been updated to include an interactive touch screen earlier, customer can enter the vehicle's information and get an Eticket allowing customers to save time and effort. There is no need to display parking ticket as its connected to RTA's electronic system. #RTA

The project is part of a smart transformation of the Parking Department to meet the needs of road users in line with the RTA's strategic goals. "Smart Dubai and People Happiness" 

The RTA will install advanced parking meters in phases starting from the first quarte of this year till the end of year 2022. 

"The project will be an "innovative solution for paying parking fees without the need for a paper ticket" said the RTA in an earlier statement. 

The new meters require customers to input their vehicle details on the touchscreen meter and the duration of the parking. Once all the details are filled out, customers can pay by coins or NOL card
